Cathy Sue Pullen Wittie, 59, of Stephenville, Texas, loving wife, mother and friend, passed into heaven May 17, 2017, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Cathy was born in North Platte on Oct. 10, 1957, to Edward and Delores Pullen. She earned her Bachelors and Masters in early childhood education from the University of Nebraska.
She married Roger Wittie on Sept. 22, 1984, in North Platte. Cathy spent more than 30 years as an elementary teacher in Nebraska, New Mexico and Texas. She retired from teaching in December 2015.
She was an avid and excellent cook, enjoyed her gardens, loved to read and cherished time with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Roger of Stephenville; mother, Delores Bjerrum Pullen of Mission, Texas; children, Casey, Jared and Dayla Wittie, all of Austin, Texas; sister, Pam (Russ) Anthony of Fort Collins, Colorado; brother, Marty (Margaret) Pullen of North Platte; and sister, Mary Ann (Scott) Nielsen of Grand Island.
In lieu of flowers, book donations are suggested to the Central Elementary Library in Stephenville, Texas, or donations to a favorite charity. Online condolences may be shared at lacyfuneral.com.
Cathy’s wishes were to be cremated with her remains returned to Nebraska. A private, family service will be scheduled sometime this summer. Lacy Funeral Home, Stephenville, is in charge of arrangements.
