Antonio “Tony” Torres Sr.

Antonio “Tony” Torres Sr., 79, of North Platte passed away, and went to see the Lord on November 17, 2017 at MaDonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln.  He was born on September 5, 1938 to Jess and Estefana Torres in Ogallala.

Tony worked for the Union Pacific Railroad as a carman for 30 plus years.  A very big passion of Tony’s was the rental property in North Platte that he owned which he used to help the needy, and the love of his corvette cars.

From his previous marriage to Josie Torres he had three children, Mona Torres, Tony Jr., and Shirley.  Then had one more child, Sara.  Tony has numerous grandchildren, San, Blake, and Lesie, Lauren, Cisar, and six from Sarah Silos from Craig, CO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess & Estefana Torres from Ogallala; brothers, Bivien, Frank, Narciso; and a sister, Carol West.

Survivors include his children; grandchildren; siblings, Joe (Sandy) Torres of Milford, OR, Angie (Ben) Torres, Delores (Pete) Torres all of North Platte, Mary Lupe (Don) Holden of Sterling, CO, Marcia Jimenez of Ogallala, NE, Molly Cross of North Platte, Rosie (Jim) Meekler of Sterling, CO, and Alice (Steve) Stites of Hershey.

Christian Wake Service will be held 7:00 p.m. today, November 21, 2017 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with the Reverend Josh Brown as celebrant.  Burial will be in the Ogallala Cemetery.  Visitation will be noon – 5:00 p.m. today at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
