Burnice A. (Dickinson) Zierlein, age 95 of North Platte passed away February 28, 2018 at Linden Court. Burnice was born October 30, 1922 to Charles and Agnes (Stethem) Pettis at Anselmo, Ne where she attended school. She was united in marriage to Cleve Dickinson on July 6, 1938 in Broken Bow, NE. They worked on various ranches through their married life. Four daughters were born to this union, Wanda, Marilyn, Janet and Iris. Burnice loved to have family dinners. She made the world’s best pies and made many crafts and went to all the county fairs. Cleve passed away on April 4, 1977 after 39 years of marriage. She loved to dance the waltz and two-step. Her father had a band so every Saturday night, they went to a dance, many at Mary’s Hall in Anselmo and the Dunning Hall. Burnice could sell anything. She worked for Allen Self Service, Shakely, and Alovera distributors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Cleve, granddaughter, Christy, son-in-law, John Harris, and sisters, Wilma Jean, Darline, and Eula Faye.
Survivors include her daughters, Wanda (Eddy) Rosencutter, Marilyn (Andy Knepp) Harris, Janet (Paul) Cox, and Iris (Mark) Lloyd, 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of wonderful friends. Online condolences may be shared at www.carpentermemorial.com. Services will be 11:00 am Monday, march 5, 2018 at the Bethel Church. Burial will be at the North Platte Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the North Platte Chapter of Alzheimer’s Association. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 pm Sunday at Carpenter Memorial Chapel which is in care of arrangements.
