James Lee Keller

James Lee Keller, of North Platte, NE, died at home on March 28, 2018, at the age of 68.

James was born in Hyannis, NE, to Oren Loren and Maizie Elizabeth (Albright) Keller on November 30, 1949. He grew up and attended school in Hyannis then went to work at the Hyannis Hotel for a couple years. James later moved to North Platte to attend Mid-Plains Community College and took classes in the Electrical Department. He went on to do odd jobs as a handyman, worked at restaurants, did mechanic work with his brother, Frank, back in Hyannis, and did construction in Douglas, WY, for a few years.

James was a member of Episcopal Church of Our Savior. He liked watching movies and listening to music, especially country western, and even participated in musicals at the Community Playhouse and sang in the church choir. He loved his cats and other animals and was a very generous person who could be lots of fun to be around.

He is survived by the love of his life, his cat Mouse; brother, Frank (Cindy) Keller, of Hyannis; sister, Nellie Hinton, of Rushville, NE; as well as other family and his many friends.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Oren and Maizie Keller; and brother-in-law, Bud Hinton.

Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be at a later date and inurnment will be in the Hyannis Cemetery. Condolences may be shared at odeanchapel.com. Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
