Margaret Ann ‘Margie’ Jensen

Margaret Ann ‘Margie’ Jensen, of North Platte, NE, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Monday, September 3, 2018.
Margie was born December 7, 1945, to Earl and Martha Louise (Weist) Campbell in North Platte where she grew up.  Margie graduated from high school in 1964 and worked for Campus Cleaners until getting married.

On November 11, 1967, Margie was united in marriage to Dean Lee Jensen at the First United Methodist Church in North Platte. Dean was serving in the US Navy so they moved to Long Beach, CA until returning to North Platte in 1968 where they have lived ever since.  The couple had two daughters and were married for over 50 years.

Margie continued working part-time for the cleaners until 1971 when she became a stay at home mom.  She loved her family very much and was a great wife and mother.  She even took on the duties of hosting family get-togethers, which she enjoyed.

Margie liked knitting and solving crossword puzzles.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary Post #163 and Weight Watchers.  When the girls were younger she helped at school with the PTA and was an assistant leader with Campfire Girls.  Most importantly, family was Margie’s first priority.

She leaves behind her husband, Dean, of North Platte; daughters, Kristi (Rob) Smith, of Omaha, and Kari Jensen, of North Platte; granddaughters, Kaitlin and Chloe Smith; brothers, Dennis Campbell, of North Platte and Dick Campbell, of Council Bluffs, IA; sister, Marie (Bob) Dugan, of North Platte; sister-in-law, Barbara Campbell, of Colorado Springs, CO; as well as many nieces, nephews and other family.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Martha Campbell; sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Carl Berglund; and brother, Chuck Campbell.

Cremation was chosen.  Memorial Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2018, at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore with Rev. Dr. Douglas A. Delp officiating.  The memorial book may be signed at odeanchapel.com or from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, the family has established a memorial.
