Authorities say woman used BB gun to shoot mom

KIMBALL, Neb. (AP) — Authorities say they’ve arrested a woman who used a BB gun to shoot her mother at a western Nebraska motel.

Kimball County Court records say 37-year-old Shirrin Sharifpour is charged with evidence tampering, two counts of assault and one of attempted murder. Her attorney declined to comment Wednesday.

Police say Sharifpour’s mother told officers that she and her daughter were at the motel Oct. 3 and were talking when her daughter went outside. Margaret Sharifpour reported that her daughter then came back inside the room, stood between the two beds, said something and then shot her twice in the back of her head and once in her right eye.

Police say officers recovered a BB handgun after the younger woman told them where she’d hidden it.
