Brandon M. McClellen

Brandon M. McClellen, age 32, of Kearney passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital.  Brandon was born June 18, 1986 in North Platte to Jeff and Betty (Stevens) McClellen.  He has four brothers and a sister who will each miss him more than words can express.

Brandon attended kindergarten in Madison, NE and attended grades 1-3 in Leigh, Ne.  His family then moved to North Platte where he attended grades 4-5 at Cody Elementary.  He attended Adams Middle School for grades 6-7 before moving to Curtis, NE where he graduated from Medicine Valley High School.  He then went on to graduate from the auto-mechanics program at Mid Plains Community College.  Brandon began his career by installing underground sprinklers.  He then was hired by Cleary Building, through hard work and applying his natural skill and talents, he became a foreman, leading his own crew on projects.

While in college, Brandon met Holly Trumbull.  During their relationship, they had one child, Cameron James McClellen.  Their baby boy quickly became a driving force in Brandon’s life to want to achieve more in his early career, so he moved his new family to Kearney, NE where he began building houses.  Prior to his death Brandon was employed by Bryan Seitler Construction, building homes for future families to enjoy.

Brandon McClellen, was a young man so full of love and a passion for life.  In his spare time, it was no surprise to catch him working on a new woodworking project, teaching young Cameron to play the guitar, fishing, hiking, hunting, working on cars, cooking (and snacking on his favorite treat).  He loved music and had recently attended a concert at Red Rocks.  Brandon was an outdoorsman through and through, often taking camping trips with friends and family and relaxing down the Niobrara River.

Brandon is survived by his son, Cameron James McClellen, age 10 who is already so much like his dad in all the best ways, showing a natural talent for anything he puts his mind to; his parents, Jeff and Betty of Curtis; brothers, Brent S. Bailey of Kentucky, Brian A. McClellen, Christopher A. McClellen both of Kannapolis, NC, and Danny Stewart of Curtis, NE; sister, Merrisa L. McClellen of Curtis, NE.  Amongst the many who will miss him are, Aunt Shelly & John Frels; niece, Ashlynn C. McClellen; special friend, Ashley Wagnitz and children, Ethan, Karson, Greyson, and Peyton; great-grandmother, Francis Mell; grandparents, Robert and Rosalie McClellen, and Charlie and Frances DeWolf; uncles, Rick (Mardell) McClellen and Robert (Lisa) McClellen; Cameron’s mom, Holly Trumbell; and countless friends.

Brandon was preceded in death by a great-grandfather, Joseph Mell; great-aunt, Connie Mell; three un-named siblings due to miscarriages; and a niece, Amari Castle.

In lieu of flowers, a memorials fund has been established for his son, Cameron J. McClellen for college.  Online condolences may be shared at www.adamsswanson.com.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Jones officiating.  Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
