Katherine “Kathy” Ann (Pinkerton) Gove

Katherine “Kathy” Ann (Pinkerton) Gove, age 77 of North Platte passed away Tuesday October 30, 2018 at Great Plains Health.

Kathy was born April 25, 1941 in North Platte to James and Fredrica “Mildred” (Brown) Pinkerton Sr.  She graduated from McPherson County High School in 1958.  She married Marvin Gove November 19, 1961 in Tryon.  The couple lived in Omaha, and then moved back to Tryon to the family ranch until 1967.  They then moved to North Platte where they have resided since.  Kathy babysat for many years, being a “grandma” to many children throughout the years.  She was a member of Parkview Nazarene Church where she was an extremely active member since 1978.  She was involved in the Christian Women’s North Platte After 5 Club, in kids and teens quizzing at church and around the district and volunteered at the Salvation Army suppers and Donna’s Christmas dinners.  She loved going to her grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin of North Platte; children, Terry Gove of Kearney, Cindy (Norm) Bomberger, Mary Gove all of North Platte, Kevin Gove of Colorado, Charity Gove, and Tony (Katrina) Gove all of North Platte; grandchildren, Chris (Jenn) Gove of Elkhorn, NE, Ashley Gove of Ponca Springs, CO, Ben Gove of Sioux Falls, SD, John Bomberger of Kearney, NE, Austin Bomberger of Lincoln, NE, Sara Bihlmaier of Gretna, NE, Alex Gove, and Savanna Gove both of North Platte; great-grandchildren, Madisyn Wilcox, Liam Gove, and Emery Gove; brother, Jim (Janea) Pinkerton Jr. of North Platte; in-laws, Liz Cole of Beaver City, NE, Elaine (Art) Georgelas of Cheyenne, WY, Evelyn (R.D.) Ulrich of Alabama, and Milton (Laura) Gove of Florida; aunt, Gloria Bryant of North Platte; many nieces, nephews, cousins; and many friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Marvin “Marty” Gove Jr.; step-mother, Anna Pinkerton; brother, Harold Pinkerton Sr.; and a sister, Barbara Anway.

Memorials are suggested to the Children’s Ministry at Parkview Nazarene Church and online condolences may be shared at www.adamsswanson.com.  Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Parkview Church of the Nazarene with the Reverends James Trippett, Jack Atteberry, and Pastor Greg Boller officiating.  Burial will follow at the North Platte Cemetery.  Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday with the family receiving friends 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
