Dee Ann Cummings, 60, of West Point, NE, formerly of North Platte passed away October 31, 2018 at Premier Estates Nursing Home in West Point, NE. She was born on June 21, 1958, in Sutherland NE and adopted at birth by Norval & Vera (Jeffers) Cummings of North Platte. She attended a special needs school in North Platte as a small child while living at home for several years. She later moved into a group home and worked at the North Platte Opportunity Center for forty years.
Dee Ann loved spending time with her family and was a very affectionate person. She loved going out to eat, shopping, playing cards and drinking coffee, but she especially loved spending time with her Grandma Abbott. She died at Premier Estates Nursing Home in West Point, NE. Although it was difficult having Dee so far from home in recent years, the family has been comforted by the TLC provided her there.
Dee was preceded in death by her father in 1968; her mother in 1990; her grandparents, Hazel & Glenn Cummings of Paxton; and both of her father’s siblings, Dale Cummings and Nola Cummings Toone. The remainder of her family spent their lives in North Platte. Her grandparents, Charles Jeffers and Alice (Macomber) Jeffers Abbott; her Aunt Dorothy (Jeffers) and Uncle Frank Isley, and her Uncle Everett Small have also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her Aunt Darlene (Jeffers) Small; and several cousins in NE, CO, and KS who have loved her dearly and will miss her dearly. DeeDee will always be remembered for her sweetness and joy in serving others.

Graveside Services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the North Platte Cemetery with Pastor George Cheek officiating. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
