On August 14, 1960, Lewis was united in marriage to Madeleine Harrell in
Grand Island.  After living in Grand Island for 10 years the couple
moved to North Platte with Lewis’ job on the railroad then bought a home
in Hershey where they have lived ever since.

Lewis was active in the Hershey community, serving on the Hershey
Athletic Booster Board and Village Board.  He was also a scoutmaster and
coach, coaching girls softball and boys baseball, and helped start the
T-Ball program.  In his free time, Lewis enjoyed doing wood projects and
was an active member of the Hershey United Methodist Church.
