Lillian Frances (Gloe) Higgins

Lillian Frances (Gloe) Higgins, 85, of North Platte passed peacefully
Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Great Plains Health.Lillian was born in Omaha on March 2, 1933, to James and Mamie (Krysel)
Keasling. Upon graduation from Tech High School she went to work for the
Tum-Pane Company at Offutt Air Force Base.

On June 7, 1952, Lillian wed Harold Alvin Gloe in Omaha. In the late
50’s they moved to North Platte. After Harold’s passing, Lillian married
Darrell Lee Higgins on June 20, 1970.

On July 1, 1960, she began working for N.P.D. Telco Federal Credit
Union, which eventually became Centris Federal Credit Union in 2000. In
1989 she received the Business and Professional Woman of the Year award.
After 45 years of service, Lil-on-the-hill retired in 2005 but continued
part-time until 2016.

She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ruth Circle, and
Painting Princesses. Lillian was a literacy volunteer for RSVP and
volunteered at Great Plains Health. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school,
reading and baking.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brother James of
Colorado and sisters Ilene Lay, Evelyn Espersen, and Vieanne Hultquist
of Omaha.

Lillian is survived by her children Cheryl and Barry Gloe of North
Platte; sister Mary Smith of Omaha; stepchildren Jeff (Mary), Jon, Jim
(Lynn) Higgins and Juli (Milt) Barnes all of North Platte; grandchildren
Jesse (Cassi) and Kelsey (Rebecca Granillo) Gloe; step grandchildren and
step great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers,
memorials are suggested to First Lutheran Church or Paws-itive Partners
Humane Society. Condolences may be shared at odeanchapel.com. Odean
Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
