Ivan Dale Fillmore

Ivan Dale Fillmore, Sr., 70, of Elkland, Missouri, formerly of North
Platte, died at the Harry S. Truman Memorial VA Hospital in Columbia,
Missouri, on Saturday February 23, 2019.

Ivan was born April 25, 1948, to Orville and Nedra (Pierce) Fillmore at
Strong City, Kansas.  He grew up in Missouri and graduated from
Marshfield High School.  Ivan worked for an ice company before enlisting
in the U.S. Army in 1968.

He was honorably discharged two years later then returned to Missouri
and went to work for an irrigation company, which allowed him to travel
with his job.  His work brought him to North Platte in 1976 where he met
Betty Jean Horn and they were married on January 7, 1978.  They
continued to live in North Platte and later divorced.  Ivan went on to
work for Gayman Sand and Gravel and did construction then eventually
returned to Missouri.

He enjoyed spending time with his horses and going to auctions. He was a
member of the American Quarter Horse Association.

Ivan is survived by his children, Brenda (Randy) Weekly, Ivan Fillmore,
Jr. and Chris Horn and son-in-law, Craig Howell, all of North Platte;
grandchildren, Ryan, Patrick, Daylon, Conner, Otis, Bella, Shakira and
CJ; brothers, Norman Fillmore, of Elbert, Colorado, Phillip Fillmore, of
Holt, Florida and Brian Shaw, of Honolulu, Hawaii; as well as other family.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa ‘Lis’ Howell; and his
parents, Orville Fillmore and Nedra Fillmore Shaw.

Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at Odean
Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore.  Burial with Military Honors will
follow in Fort McPherson National Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to
7 p.m. Wednesday at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore, which is in
