Riley Kent Trew

Riley Kent Trew of North Platte passed away at his home, Friday, March 29, 2019 at the age of 67 with his wife Pam (Bruha) Trew, and son, Joshua Scott Trew by his side.

Riley was born March 5, 1952 in Grand Island to Wayne and Arlene (Bachkora) Trew; graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1970; attended GI School of Business and Hastings Technical School and married Pam on March 3, 1978 in Grand Island at St. Mary’s Cathedral.  He and his family lived in Grand Island, Phoenix, AZ; and last resided in North Platte.

Riley owned and operated Flat Land Construction for 20 years.  He rebuilt his mother’s home in 1980 after the June 3rd tornado, and following that build a home for his sister.  Riley tried to keep busy in the off months and enjoyed rebuilding totaled Toyota trucks in his spare time, working in the yard, and snow removal.  He was a great husband and father who loved his family.  He especially enjoyed family vacations and holidays.  Trips to the mountains, California, and Disneyland were his favorites.  He surprised his wife with a trip to Hawaii on the spur of the moment!

Riley was preceded in death by his brother, DeWayne Sterling, who died at childbirth; his father and mother, Wayne Trew and Arlene Glenda (Bachkora) Trew; grandparents, Ruth and Amel Bachkora and Leonard and Rose Trew.

He is survived by his wife, Pam of North Platte; son, Joshua Scott Trew of North Platte; daughter and son-in-law, Andrea Kay Trew and Kevin Rose of Omaha; and sister and brother-in-law, Ronda Kay and Jeff Hutchison of Falling Waters, WV; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He will be missed by all and there will be a quiet, graveside burial at a later date with family and friends but no funeral.  Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
