Lincoln County Raceway Fair Races Results

lincoln-county-raceway-resultsWinning at the County Fair is easier said than done, especially when the action is jam-packed with door-to-door racing during the Lincoln County Fair Races at Lincoln County Raceway in North Platte, Nebraska on Saturday evening.

Colton Osborn, Denny Egge, Casey Werkmeister, Jacob Olmstead and Brad Bayne were able to out run the challengers to score trips to the Winners Circle. Grabbing the lead on lap five and holding off all challenges was Colton Osborn of Cozad, Nebraska. Osborn was in the lead pack from the onset and garnered the lead early and never looked back to win the IMCA Modified Feature. Maxwell’s Charley Brown was the runner-up finisher in the feature after moving past third place finisher David Murray Jr of Oberlin, Kansas during the white flag lap. Murray went to the top shelf in an effort to make a pass on Osborn for the lead, but the marbles caused Murray to drop back to third place where he would still garner a podium finish. Cole Hodges of Ogallala and Ft. Morgan’s Jeremy Frenier rounded out your top five in the feature event.

Veteran wheelman Denny Egge of Kearney, Nebraska was dominant in winning the IMCA Northern Sport Modified Feature by snaring the lead from the drop of the green flag and never relinquishing the lead to claim the feature victory. Making his way through traffic from his fourth row starting position, Gibbon’s Chad Dolan was able to notch a runner-up finish in the feature. Avoiding all incidents, Mike Saathoff of North Platte was up on the wheel to the tune of a third place finish in the feature event.

No stranger to the winners circle, reigning track champion Casey Werkmeister of Maywood was able to drive to the lead on the third lap on his way to earning the feature victory in the IMCA Stock Car division. Werkmeister was able to slingshot into the lead on the third lap and hold onto the point for the remainder of the feature event. Casey Woken of Norton, Kansas worked his way through traffic to garner the runner-up position in the waning laps where he would finish with a runner-up honor earned. Jeff Whiting of Gothenburg started on the front row in the feature and was able to carry the momentum into the lead for the first two circuits. Whiting stayed ‘elbows up’ to etch out a podium finish in third place overall.

Finishing strong was the name of the game for Overton’s Jacob Olmstead to lead the final three laps to win the IMCA Hobby Stock feature event. Finishing in the runner-up position after leading the initial 11 laps was Brady Weinman of Arnold. Luke Wassom of Broken Bow was a man on the move to drive from his starting position deep in the field to a third place honor.

Putting on an dominating performance was Brad Bayne of Greeley, Colorado in the Modified Lite division. Bayne was virtually unstoppable on the oval with wins in the feature, cash dash and heat races. Bayne grabbed the lead from the drop of the green flag and never once relinquished the lead throughout the whole feature event. Charging his way into contention, Keith Welch of Greeley was the runner-up finisher in the feature. Completing the sweep on the podium for Greeley wheelmen was Jerry Hunter with third place accolades being earned.
