A 43-year-old North Platte man is facing felony charges after police found him in possession of a stolen firearm.
On August 13, officers with the North Platte Police Department responded to the report of a suicidal male in the 800 block of North Jeffers Street.
As officers were in the home, they observed a Marlin 60 .22 caliber rifle. Because the subject in the home, a 47-year-old male, was reportedly suicidal, officers took possession of the firearm.
The weapon was processed and officers discovered that it had been reported stolen in November of 2014.
Further investigation revealed that the weapon belonged to a neighbor, Warren Harlow, a convicted felon.
Police continued to investigate, and, on August 28, made contact with Harlow and took him into custody.
He was transported to the Lincoln County Detention Center and jailed on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm, both felonies.
