The University of Nebraska has added Central Michigan to the 2020 non-conference football schedule.  The Nebraska Athletics Department announced the latest addition to the Huskers’ future non-conference schedule on Wednesday.

The Chippewas will visit Lincoln on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020. The game will mark the first-ever meeting between the two schools. The contest is the second scheduled non-conference game for Nebraska in 2020. The Huskers are scheduled to take on Cincinnati at Memorial Stadium on Sept. 12, 2020.

Central Michigan has been one of the top programs in the Mid-American Conference over the past decade. Since 2006, CMU has captured three MAC titles and played in six bowl games, including an appearance in the Bahamas Bowl in 2014.

The Chippewas opened the 2015 season against Oklahoma State and regularly square off against Power Five opponents. Since 2010, Central Michigan has played non-conference games against Michigan, Michigan State, Iowa, Virginia Tech, Purdue, Syracuse and Kansas.

Nebraska has one additional non-conference game to add to the 2020 schedule. NU’s future schedules are complete through the 2019 campaign. Beginning with the 2016 season, Nebraska will begin playing nine Big Ten Conference games and three non-conference contests.
