The North Platte Community College Lady Knights volleyball team went 1-3 this weekend at the Pizza Hut Invitational.
In the first game on Friday, the Lady Knights lost to Sheridan College in three sets 25-16, 25-15, 25-12.
The second game on Friday saw the Lady Knights fall in three to Trinidad State Junior College 25-17, 25-15, 25-22. The Lady Knights were led in kills by MaKenna Ketter with eight kills Josie Palmer and Valerie Most each added six kills. Shelby Wolever had 25 set assists and Megan Chintala had 26 digs.
The Lady Knights started Saturday’s action with a three set win over Garden City Community College winning 25-11, 25-18, 25-15. Most had nine kills for the Lady Knights. Samantha Morgan had one solo and six assisted blocks. Chintala led the Knights with 17 defensive digs.
The final game for the Lady Knights on Saturday was a tough five-set match against Otero Junior College. The Lady Knights won the first two sets by scores of 25-21 and 25-19. Otero came back and won the next two sets 25-20 and 25-17. In the fifth set, Otero was in complete control winning 15-5. The Lady Knights were led in kills by Most with 15 kills, Ketter added 13 and Jessica Lovitt added 10. Chintala had 19 defensive digs and Wolever had 31 set assists to lead the Lady Knights.
The Lady Knights are now 7-9 on the season. They return home on Thursday, September 17 against Region IX Division II and 12th ranked nationally opponent Central Community College.
The match is “Educator’s Night” and “Girl Scout Night”. All educators at any level and girl scouts and their leaders will be admitted into the match free.
