
Kadie Rolfzen was named Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Week and Mikaela Foecke was named Co-Freshman of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.
Rolfzen, a two-time AVCA All-American, earned the first defensive award of her career after notching 3.14 digs and 1.57 blocks per set last week in wins at Creighton and at Iowa State. The junior from Papillion, Neb., had a career-high eight blocks to lead the Huskers’ defensive effort at Iowa State. She also had 17 digs, just one off her career high. Rolfzen also contributed 2.9 kills per set for the week.
Foecke earned her second straight Co-Freshman-of-the-Week award after posting 3.7 kills per set with a .375 hitting percentage in the two matches last week. Foecke matched her career high of 13 kills in both matches and hit .522 with just one error in the sweep at Creighton. Foecke also added eight digs and three blocks on the week.
The Huskers have earned four league honors through the first four weeks of the season after garnering five all of last season.
