Sheila L. Hughbanks, 65, of Greeley, CO, formerly of North Platte, passed away September 17, 2015 at The University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, CO. She was born July 7, 1950 to Don and Betty (Drake) Speck in North Platte. Sheila grew up in numerous areas of Nebraska and Colorado, graduating from North Platte High School in 1968. She also graduated from Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff. She was united in marriage to Richard Hughbanks on June 2, 2002 at Estes Park, CO. Her family was the love of her life. Holidays, birthdays, family get togethers and special occasions were very special to her. She is survived by her husband, Richard of Greeley, CO; her children, Kim Baxter of Gering, Jason (Carma) Lannon of North Platte and Tara N. Joneson of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Warren Lannon, Brandon Baxter and Kaitlin Lannon; brothers, Mike Speck, Dan Speck, Frank Aloi and Nick (Chele) Aloi; sisters, JoAnn Dupre and Linda (Virgil) Scott; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Watkins; her parents, Don and Eleanor Speck; a sister and brother-in-law, SanDee (John) Casey; and a grandson, Alexander Lannon. Burial will be at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens south of North Platte. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday with family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A memorial has been established in her memory.
