Lincoln – Nebraska punter Sam Foltz was honored for his performance against Illinois Monday, as he was named Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week.
Foltz averaged a season-best 46.9 yards on his nine punts Saturday, including five punts of at least 50 yards. He had two kicks of over 60 yards, including a pair of 63-yard punts. More impressively, he pinned the Fighting Illini inside their own 10-yard line three times.
Monday’s award marks the second time in his career Foltz has been named Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week. It is the third time in four weeks that a Nebraska player has won or shared a Big Ten weekly honor.
