Gordon Arthur Hansen, age 85 of Mullen passed away Friday, October 9, 2015 at Great Plains Health.

Gordon was born on May 12, 1930 in Hyannis, Ne to Kai Kristian Ulrich and Eliza Pearle (Haney) Hansen.  He graduated from high school in Curtis, Ne in 1948 and joined the United States Marine Corp in February 1951.  He left the service in March of 1952 after sustaining an injury in Korea that left him sightless in his right eye.  He returned to Bingham, NE and started working as a hired hand for different ranchers in the area.  On May 23, 1960 he married Goldie Gorsuch.  She had five children from a previous marriage: Sharon Gorsuch (deceased), Shirley (Roath) (deceased), Linda (Foreman), Margie (Payne), and Larry Gorsuch.  Gordon worked for Mathews in Mullen driving a fuel truck.  He later had his own custom farming business and then purchased and ran the Standard Service Station in Mullen before retiring.

Gordon is survived by his sister, Julieanne Hansen of Hyannis; as well as several cousins, stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Goldie.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. (MT) today, October 13, 2015 at Seneca Cemetery with full military honors provided by the A.D. Fetterman American Legion Post #57.   Chaplain Sean Hibbert will officiate.  Adams & Swanson is in charge of local arrangements.
