Ira H. Fisher, 67, of Cameron, LA formerly of North Platte passed away August 24, 2015, in Lake Charles, LA after a 22 month battle with lung cancer.
He was born in North Platte to Tommy and Norma Fisher. He grew up and attended North Platte Public Schools. On April 19, 1965, he married Berneta “Bert” Schroeder Weber. The two were married 42 years before her death in 2007. Ira was a railroad machinist retiring after 28 years of service. He loved spending the winter months in Toledo Bend, TX, fishing and bought a shrimp boat in 2012. There was always a little bit of Bubba Gump in him! He especially enjoyed his dogs, hunting, shrimping on his boat, looking for Pinkie the dolphin on the shrimp boat, alligator watching, walking the Gulf of Mexico to collect shells, and being a fishing guide at Toledo Bend. On December 28, 2012, he married Deborah Dyson.

Survivors include his children, Kim Fisher of Goodyear, AZ, Robert (Tammy) Weber, and Lauri (Alan) McNeel all of North Platte; grandchildren, Brian Thomas of Dallas, TX, Brad Thomas of Scottsdale, AZ, Michele (Ryan) Hilderbrand of North Platte, Christopher (Leanne) Weber of Columbus, and Malerie (Derek Towne) Weber of Omaha; great-grandchildren, Ty & Madi Hilderbrand, and Sophia Niemann; siblings, Joe (Cheryl), Tom (Barb), Earl, (Rae) Jerry (Sheryl) Fisher, Lois (Harold) Reeves, and Martha (Don) Hubert; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunt; special nephew, Steve Fisher, and special friends, James (Doris) Davis and Clara Parsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bert; son, Alan Weber, grandson, Michael Weber; brothers, David (Sonny) Fisher, Anard (Dutch) Fisher, and Leo fFisher; and a sister, Evelyn Fletcher.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 15, 2015, at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with the Reverend Polly Deppen-Williams officiating. Cremation was chosen those wishing to sign the register book may do so 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Tuesday and 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of local arrangements.
