NPCC Lady Knights Volleyball Falls to Northeast

NPCC Knights LogoThe North Platte Community College Lady Knights volleyball team lost to # 20 rated Northeast Community College in four sets 25-17, 19-25, 25-19, 25-15.

The win for the Lady Hawks broke a three game losing streak and avenged an earlier loss to the Lady Knights on October 1 in North Platte.

The loss drops the Lady Knights record to 12-18 on the season.

In the first set the Lady Knights started out with an 8-5 lead.  The Lady Hawks tied the set at nine.  The set was tied at 11 when Northeast took control of the set by going on a 14-3 run to take the set.

The second set saw North Platte start out with a 5-0 lead.  The Lady Hawks cut the lead to 13-10, but the Lady Knighs held on to win the set.

In the third set,  the Lady Hawks jumped out to a 10-5 lead.  The Lady Knights rallied to only trail 19-18 before Northeast went on a 6-1 run to take the set.

The fourth set was all Northeast as they led 12-6.  The Lady Hawks never trailed in the fourth set to capture the match.

The Lady Knights will be in action again tomorrow night on the road at Columbus when they face the seventh rated Central Community College.  The match will also be a NJCAA Region IX Division II matchup.  Central is 24-10 on the season and 2-0 in Region IX play.  Game time is 6 pm.
