Lawrence H. Tomjack, 80, of North Platte, passed away October 18, 2015 at the University of Colorado Hospital at Denver. He was born February 13, 1935 to John and Regina (Kallhoff) Tomjack at Elgin, NE. He graduated from Melbeta High School with the class of “53”. On June 4, 1955, Lawrence was united in marriage to Janis Eckland at Minatare, NE. He worked for Gering Gas Company and 7 Up Bottling in Scottsbluff before hiring on as an engineer for Union Pacific Railroad in 1968, retiring in 1997. Lawrence was a member at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, UP Oldtimers and the Eagles. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Lawrence is survived by his wife, Janis of North Platte; his daughter, Regina Susanne (Scott) Hammer of Glendale, AZ; his son, John Frederick (Becky) Tomjack of Cheyenne, WY; sisters, Delores (Robert) Smith of Scottsbluff, Mary Ann Steele of Hemet, CA, Marilyn Burback of Papillion, NE and Elaine Amen of Phoenix, AZ; eight grandchildren, Jeremy and David Richards, Allison Killingsworth all of Denver, Jamie, Jailee, Travis and Adam Tomjack and Amber Moyte all of Cheyenne; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jerome Tomjack; and a son, Randy. Memorials are suggested to Bridge of Hope or Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m. November 14, 2015 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with The Reverend James Novakowski as celebrant. Inurnment will be at Riverview Cemetery near Sutherland.
