Dean W. Jamieson, 92, of North Platte, and a proud veteran, passed away Nov. 11, 2015, on Veteran’s Day, at his home. He was born February 23, 1923, son of Drew and Elsie (Dopps) Jamieson in Omaha. He graduated from Beatrice High School and served in the United States Navy (Armed Guard) from 1942 to 1946. Dean was united in marriage Sept. 19, 1947 to Donna M. Fuller at Beatrice. He was employed at the Union Pacific Railroad as a brakeman, retiring in 1988. Dean is survived by his son, Ricki (Mary Lou) Jamieson of Olathe, KS; his daughter, Pam (Trent) Lindstedt of North Platte; grandchildren, Staci Ponte, Angela (Adam) Zorn, Kristy (Mark) Anthony and Vangi (Jonathan) Stewart; and eight great grandchildren, Donavon, Andrew, Connor, Melana, Savio, Nautica, Bryar and Tyler. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Donna; a grandson, Jason Jamieson; a granddaughter, Jodi Lindstedt, and great-granddaughters, Emily and Megan. Memorial graveside services will be 11:00 am Monday, November 16, 2015 at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery with military honors. Those wishing to sign the memorial book may do so from 1 to 4 pm Sunday at Carpenter Memorial Chapel which is in charge of arrangements.
