The body of an adult female recovered from the Missouri River near Nebraska City, in Otoe County, on Monday, Nov. 23, has been identified.
Investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol received information from the Council Bluffs Police Department (CBPD) the end of last week reference a missing female.
An autopsy was performed and the body was identified through dental records on Monday, Nov. 30, as Jennifer Giles, 40, of Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Giles had been reported as missing by her family to the Council Bluffs Police Department onOctober 28. Results of the autopsy are pending. The Nebraska State Patrol is assisting the CBPD with its ongoing investigation.
Giles’ body was discovered in the Missouri River on Monday evening, Nov. 23, in an area north of the Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) power plant. A trapper reported the body to the Otoe County Sheriff’s Office and the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
