The North Platte Community College Lady Knights basketball team will play two basketball games this weekend.
On Friday, December 11, the North Platte Community College Lady Knights will host the York College Junior Varsity Lady Panthers at 5 pm at the McDonald-Belton Gymnasium. The Lady Knights defeated the Lady Panthers on November 9th 68-50 at York.
On Saturday, December 12, the Lady Knights will travel to Torrington, Wyo., to play the Eastern Wyoming College Lady Lancers at 3 pm CST.
The Lady Knights are 5-4 on the season and are led in scoring by Sarah Mahr, averaging 14.7 points per game. Suhmer Mitchell is the only other Lady Knights to average in double figures at 10.8 points per game. Mickenzie Brennan leads the Lady Knights in rebounding with 5.8 rebounds per game.
The Lady Lancers are 6-9 on the season. The Lady Lancers are led in scoring by Sarah Bersang at 11 points per game. Lacey Knudson is the other Lady Lancer to average in double figures at 10.5 points per game.
With a win in either of these two games, Lady Knights Head Coach Richard Thurin will have 200 wins at North Platte Community College. The Lady Knights are 7-8 against Eastern Wyoming and 4-0 against York under Thurin.
