NPCC Knights Basketball Defeat Central

leito hollowayColumbus – The North Platte Community College Knights basketball team continued their winning ways by defeating the Central Community College Raiders 96-69.

The game was a Nebraska Community College Athletic Conference game. The Knights are 3-0 in the conference and Southeast is 0-2.

The Knights are 12-8 on the season and on a four game winning streak.

The Raiders are 11-8 overall.

The Knights held on to a 47-32 halftime lead and outscored the Raiders 49-37 in the second half.  The Knights shot 20 of 21 from the free throw line.

The Knights were led in scoring by Michael Mitchell, who scored 17 points.  Three other Knights scored in double figures.  Victor Lewis with 16 points, Jordan Mills with 15 points and Leito Holloway added 11 points.  Tyree Peter led the Knights in rebounding with eight boards.

The Raiders were led by Austin Anderson and OJ Thok with 15 points apiece.  Ruben Fuamba and  Kristijan Gavrilovski each had six rebounds.

The Knights return home on Tuesday January 26 to face the Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen in a National Junior College Athletic Association Region IX South Sub-Region contest.

The game will be broadcast on ESPN 1410 radio and www.northplattepost.com.  It will also be livestreamed on www.coachesaid.com.  Tip-off is set for 7:30 pm CST.
