NPCC Lady Knights Basketball Travels to Fort Carson and Northwest Kansas

npcc fort carsonNorth Platte – The North Platte Community College Lady Knights basketball team will take their three game winning streak on the road to play Fort Carson Army Base and Northwest Kansas Tech this weekend.

Originally the Lady Knights were scheduled to play Air Force Prep on Friday Jan 29 and Fort Carson on Saturday Jan 30.  Air Force Prep is unable to field a team so the game was cancelled.

The Fort Carson game was moved to Friday in Colorado Springs, Colo., and the Lady Knights picked up an away game against the Northwest Kansas Technical College Mavericks in Goodland, Kan., on Saturday.

The Lady Knights have never defeated Fort Carson since they began playing each other in 2006-07.  The Lady Knights are 0-5 in that span.

The Mavericks are 14-7 on the season.  They are scoring 70.8 points per game and allowing 66.1 ppg.

Juliet James is the only Maverick to average in double figures at 15.8 ppg.  James also leads her team in rebounding at 8.8 rebounds per game.

The Lady Knights are 9-7 on the season, averaging 64.8 ppg and allowing 63.6 ppg.

Sarah Mahr leads the Lady Knights in scoring with a 14.9 ppg average. Suhmer Mitchell is scoring 12.4 ppg as the only other Lady Knights to score in double figures.  Mahr also leads in rebounding with 5.2 rebounds per game.

The Lady Knights are 4-2 against the Mavericks all-time.

Tip-off for the Fort Carson game is 5 pm and the Northwest Kansas Tech game is at 2 pm.
