LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — A 19-year-old man shot near the Capitol in Lincoln has made a deal from prosecutors.

Online court records say Tareik Artis pleaded no contest Thursday to possession of a controlled substance and possession of a stolen firearm. Prosecutors dismissed two drug counts in return for Artis’ pleas. His sentencing is scheduled for April 11.

Authorities say Lancaster County Deputy Jeffrey Moeller and a deputy U.S. marshal shot Artis on Sept. 22 after he pointed a loaded handgun at them. Police say Artis was fleeing from a Lincoln officer after a traffic stop.
