LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Entry to Nebraska state parks and recreation areas will be free on May 21 — no vehicle permits required.
Nebraska Game and Parks says camping, lodging and all other user fees still will apply, and anglers must follow fishing regulations.
The department also says several special events are planned for that day. A list is posted online at Calendar.OutdoorNebraska.gov.
Among them is a free fishing clinic at Platte River State Park in eastern Nebraska. The clinic will run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Some rods and reels and bait will be available, but the supplies are limited. People are encouraged to take their own gear.
