The No. 7 North Platte High School (12-6) boys soccer team had their season come to an end with a 2-1 loss to No. 2 Omaha South (16-2) in the opening round of the Class A State Soccer Tournament.
The game was scoreless at halftime. In the second half, the Packers struck first with a goal from Jose Hernandez in the 60th minute. Omaha South added a second goal about five minutes later from Emilio Margarito to take a 2-0 lead. North Platte’s Ryan Letourneau scored the Bulldog’s lone goal in the final minute of regulation.
