Wallace D. “Wally” Allison, 79, passed away June 28, 2016 at his home in Stapleton, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Wally was born on July 25, 1936 in Wallace, Nebraska, the son of Clarence and Julia (Wallace) Allison.
He spent his early years on a dairy farm in Hayes County where he worked and delivered milk daily in Hayes Center to his family’s customers. He attended school in Hayes County, graduating from Hayes County High School in 1954. After high school he served in the United States Air Force, was actively discharged in 1956 and attended McCook College, McCook, Nebraska. He married Cecelia Neumann at St. Catherine’s Church in Indianola, Nebraska on February 27, 1960. Wally received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Chadron State College and his Master’s Degree in Administration from Fort Hays University, Hays, Kansas.
Wally loved children and spent his adult life as a parent, teacher, and administrator in Nebraska, Kansas, and South Dakota. He enjoyed taking his children on hunting, fishing and camping outings and attended school and church activities with his family. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were his delight.
He is survived by his wife, Cecelia of Stapleton; daughter, Kristin (Jim) Opela of Stapleton, three sons, Kevin (Barbara) Allison of Great Falls, MT, Kendall (Deanna) Allison and Kent (Jacque) Allison all of North Platte; sixteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Claryce (Gary) Burt of Morrison, CO; and many relatives and beloved friends, both human and animal.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and his in-laws, George and Florence Neumann.

Rosary will be recited 7:00 P.M. Friday, July 1, 2016 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Stapleton. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 2, 2016 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Stapleton with the Reverend Thomas Gudipalli as celebrant. At his request cremation was chosen. Inurnment will be in the Loup Valley Cemetery with military honors graveside. Those wishing to sign the register book may do so 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Thursday and 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Friday at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
