Ron Eugene Sivits, age 71, of Maxwell, NE, passed away at home on Tuesday, August 9, 2016.
Ron was born August 29, 1944, to Lester Martin and Ethel Violet Blagdon Sivits in North Platte, NE. Ron grew up on the farm north of Maxwell and graduated from Kearney High School. He then started trucking and did so for many years then went to work for Wal-mart for nine years before retiring due to health reasons.
Ron was married to Sharon Williams and they lived in Minden, NE and later divorced. He married Sandy and they lived in Boulder, CO then divorced. While living in Mt. Pleasant, TX, Ron was married to Diane. They later moved to Maxwell and eventually divorced. Ron married Patricia Lemons and they made their home north of Maxwell where they were members of the Maxwell Baptist Church.
Ron was a “jack of all trades” and could fix anything. He enjoyed being outside and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia, of Maxwell; sons, Ken Sivits, of Fort Scott, KS, Mark (Sandy) Sivits, of Denver, CO, and Brett Sivits, of Vancouver, WA; stepsons, Doug (Kristen) Yonker, Terry Yonker and Randy Yonker and stepdaughter, Jamie (Jeff) Eichner, all of North Platte; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; two sisters, Carolyn Hoffmann, of Denver, CO, and Darlene Ennes, of Torrington, WY; brother, Darrel (Elizabeth) Sivits, of Kearney, NE; and several nieces, nephews and other family.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Ethel; and brother, Duane Sivits.
Funeral Service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 13, 2016, at the Maxwell Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Lyzenga officiating. Burial will follow in the Plainview Cemetery south of Maxwell. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore. Condolences may also be shared at odeanchapel.com. Memorials are suggested to the Maxwell Baptist Church.
