The Nebraska men’s basketball team was blitzed from the start by a hot-shooting Purdue team in an 83-65 loss in West Lafayette, Indiana last night. The Boilermakers shot 63 percent in the first half and pulled to a 47-30 halftime lead. The Huskers were never able to get closer than 14 points in the second half as Purdue cruised to the win. Though Nebraska shot 52 percent from the field, they were outdone by Purdue shooting 54.5 percent and making 13 three-pointers. Bo Spencer had another strong offensive night for the Huskers in the defeat, scoring 19 points on 8-for-14 shooting. He was the only Husker in double figures. The Huskers drop to 12-14 and 4-11 in Big Ten play with the defeat. They’re back in action Saturday night, when they visit seventh-ranked Michigan State.
