NPCC drops two at Subway Invite

npcc volleyballNorth Platte – The North Platte Community College Lady Knights volleyball lost two matches on day two of the Subway Invitational at the McDonald-Belton Gymnasium, Saturday.

The first match of the day had the Lady Knights losing to the Colby Community College Lady Trojans in four sets, 25-12, 23-25, 25-23, and 25-12.

The Lady Knights were led in kills by Jessica Lovitt and Aly Camacho with eight kills each.  MaKenna Ketter and Josie Palmer each added six kills.

Shelby Wolever finished the match with 18 set assists and Madi Gilg had 12.

In the final match of the tournament, the Lady Knights fell to the McCook Community College Lady Indians in five sets losing   25-22, 21-25, 28-26, 16-25, and 15-13.

Palmer and Lovitt, each had 13 kills for the Lady Knights.  Wolever had 24 set assists and Chintala finished with 28 defensive digs.

The Lady Knights finished the tournament winless in four matches and drop to 0-5 on the season.

The Lady Trojans finished the Invite with a perfect 4-0 record over the two days.  Eastern Wyoming College had three wins and one loss.  Casper College split their matches and the Lady Indians went 1-3.

The Lady Knights are in action next on Tuesday, Aug 30 when they travel to Hastings College Junior Varsity.  Game time is at 7 pm.
