The Husker football team has lost a member of its coaching staff. Defensive backs coach Corey Raymond is departing after one season with the program to accept the same position at LSU. Raymond had previously turned down an offer from his alma mater to replace Ron Cooper, but when LSU coach Les Miles offered him the job the second time, he accepted. Raymond replaced Marvin Sanders on Bo Pelini’s staff last spring after an even briefer stint elsewhere. He had been a member of Kevin Wilson’s staff at Indiana for just one month before bolting for Nebraska. The Huskers finished 18th in the country in pass defense and 34th in pass efficiency defense under Raymond’s tutelage. The Huskers will likely hope to have someone in Raymond’s place on the staff before the start of spring practice March 10.
