NPCC Lady Knights volleyball lose in straight sets at McCook CC

NPCC Knights on ESPNMcCook  – The North Platte Community College Lady Knights volleyball team were defeated in three sets on Tuesday night by the McCook Community College Lady Indians 25-18, 25-23, and 25-23.

The Lady Knights started slowly and trailed the Lady Indians in the first set 18-8.  They were able to rally and cut the score to 23-18, but the Lady Indians were able to hold them off and win the first set.

The second and third sets were very tight and the Lady Indians did not allow the Lady Knights to gain any momentum and held on for the sweep.

Aly Camacho led the Lady Knights with seven kills in the match and Jessica Lovitt added six.

Shelby Wolever had 20 set assists for the Lady Knights and Megan Chintala recorded 14 defensive digs.

The Lady Knights are now 8-14 on the season and 2-2 in Nebraska Community College Athletic Conference play.

The Lady Indians improve to 5-16 on the season and 2-2 in NCCAC play.

The Lady Knights are back at it when they return home on Wednesday, Oct. 5 when they face the Eastern Wyoming College Lady Lancers at the McDonald-Belton Gymnasium at 7 p.m.

The match is volleyball uniform night. Those who wear their volleyball uniform shirts will be admitted into the match free of charge.  It is also Community Connection night.

The match will be broadcast on ESPN 1410 radio and on the Internet at www.northplattepost.com.  It will also be livestreamed on www.npccknights.com.
