SCHUYLER, Neb. (AP) — A $589,265 state grant will help build housing for senior citizens in Schuyler.
The Nebraska Department of Economic Development says its grant will help build 14 units of housing in Schuyler.
The rest of the project’s nearly $3 million cost will be covered by a combination of low-income tax credits, a conventional loan and an owner equity loan.
The homes will each have three bedrooms, one and three-quarters bathrooms and attached garages. Snow removal, lawn care and trash pick-up will be provided by the landlord.
The homes will also be designed for wheelchair access to a first-floor bathroom and reinforced bathroom walls so grab bars can be installed.
