The 24th-ranked Nebraska women’s basketball team opens Big Ten tournament play this afternoon in Indianapolis. As the sixth seed in the conference, the Huskers are matched up against eleventh-seeded Northwestern. Nebraska concluded the regular season with a 21-7 record and a 10-6 mark in the Big Ten. The Huskers are coming off arguably their most impressive win of the season, a 71-57 defeat of eighth-ranked Ohio State at the Devaney Center on Sunday. Northwestern finished 14-15 and won just four of their 16 conference games, but one of those wins was a 63-51 defeat of the Huskers in Lincoln back on February 16. Nebraska’s women have never won a conference tournament championship. Action at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse is scheduled to begin at approximately 1 PM today.
