GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (AP) – A driver used his pickup to cut off the escape of a man suspected of stealing a woman’s purse in Grand Island. Andy Marsh saw the man running with the purse Monday and a woman getting out of her car to chase him. She told Marsh the man had reached through an open car window to grab the purse. Marsh says he maneuvered his truck around traffic and managed to corner the man against a fence near the Grand Island library’s parking lot. Before Marsh could get out of his truck to tackle the man, two other witnesses showed up to grab the thief and help hold him for officers. The purse was found a few blocks away. No injuries were reported.
