Nathan “Nate” Glenn Schultheiss, age 57 of North Platte, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday November 22, 2017.
Nate was born October 14, 1960 in North Platte, NE. His parents were Dell and Roedene Lavina (King-Lind) Schultheiss. He grew up in Hershey, attended Hershey Public Schools and graduated in 1979. After high school he attended Mid Plains Community College and graduated with certificates in auto body repair and diesel mechanics. He owned and operated T-Lectrick, a starter and alternator repair business. He married Louise Jean Schaeffer on May 16, 1991 in North Platte, NE and to this union Alexander Nathan and Nicholas Glenn were born. He was an avid NASCAR fan, and was a big supporter of the Lincoln County Raceway and the drivers. He was also a fan of Husker football. He enjoyed classic car shows and entered Louise’s grandfather’s 1977 Monte Carlo several times.
Nate is survived by his wife Louise of North Platte, son Alex of North Platte; siblings John (Robyn) Schultheiss of Kearney, NE, Laura (Lee) Freihage of Hershey, Mark (Stacy) Schultheiss of Canton, GA, Rebecca (Tom) Gilbert of North Platte, Susan (Kerry) Jones of North Platte, Lavina (John) Phelan of Hainaut, Belgium; aunts and uncles Judy (Bill) Maassen of North Platte, Rose Ann (Marvin) Young of Martinez, GA, Virginia (Jerry) Kasha of Canton, GA, Kay (John L. ) Schurr of Farnam, NE, Dean (Marcia) Schultheiss of Orange, CA; as well as countless other extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dell Schultheiss and Roedene L. (King-Lind) Schultheiss Bayne Abel; stepfathers Lavern Bayne and George Abel; son Nicholas; and aunt and uncle Glenda and Phillip Koch.
Memorials are suggested in his name and online condolences may be shared at www.adamsswanson.com. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday November 28, 2017 at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home with Captains Tony and Brianne Bowers officiating. Burial will follow at the North Platte Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday November 27, 2017 at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
