Rockies Lose in Spring Training Finale

The Colorado Rockies concluded their Cactus League schedule yesterday with a 7-2 loss to the Seattle Mariners in Scottsdale, Arizona. Rockies starting pitcher Jhoulys Chacin scuffled through four innings, allowing five runs on eight hits. Offensively, catcher Wilin Rosario smacked a pair of doubles, outfielder Michael Cuddyer tripled, and Jordan Pacheco and Chris Nelson each drove in a run. The Rockies wrap up Cactus League play with a 17-15 record. The Rockies finalized their 25-man roster after the game. They’ll carry four starting pitchers until Drew Pomeranz is recalled for his first start of the year on April 15. That allows both Jonathan Herrera and Eric Young Jr. to make the team as utilitymen. The Rockies take on the Houston Astros on Friday in Houston for their season opener.
