Jeffrey M. Engdahl

Jeffrey M. Engdahl, 46, of Omaha, died March 11, 2018 in his home surrounded by his family after an 8 month battle with cancer. Jeff was born to Jack D. and Patricia E. (Barney) Engdahl on December 24, 1971. Jeff attended North Platte Public Schools, graduating in 1990. He attended college at Nebraska Wesleyan, University of Nebraska at Kearney and University of Nebraska at Lincoln where he finished in 1998 earning his BA in Business. He worked in the financial industry for most of his career, serving the needs of customers as a mortgage lender most recently with Access Bank in Omaha, NE.

Jeff was married to Holly McDermott in 2000 and to this union a daughter, Chloe Belle, was born. Later divorced, Jeff and Holly remained the best of friends and always placed the needs of Chloe before themselves. The greatest love of his life was his daughter, Chloe Belle. He adored watching her participate in basketball, some golf and her greatest joy, competitive volleyball. He was so proud of his beautiful daughter.

Jeff’s other interests include his incredible passion for golf. He excelled in competitive golf at both the high school and college level. He was also a diehard fan of Nebraska Huskers Football and Creighton Blue Jays Basketball teams. He was a member of Rejoice Lutheran Church in Omaha, NE.

Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents: Marlin & A.O. Engdahl and William Barney.

He is survived by his parents: Jack D. and Patricia E. (Barney) Engdahl of Lincoln, NE, daughter: Chloe Belle Engdahl of Omaha, NE, sister: Joy K. Podliska, her husband Shane and their children Riley, Connor and Grace of Lincoln, NE. brother: Jon K. Engdahl, his wife Casey and their daughter Maddison of Lincoln, NE, and his grandmother: Verna Barney of Kearney, NE, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 16, at Rejoice Lutheran Church, 2556 S. 138th St., Omaha. Burial will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 16, at Wyuka Cemetery, Lincoln. Visitation will be from 1-7:30 p.m., with family present from 5:30-7:30 p.m., on Thursday, March 15, at Braman Mortuary Southwest Chapel. Online condolences may be shared at bramanmortuary.com. Memorials are suggested to the North Platte Public Schools Foundation-Golf Scholarship or Rejoice Lutheran Church in Omaha. Braman Mortuary Southwest Chapel, Omaha, is in charge of arrangements.
