Beverly Jean Dailey, 83, of Arnold, passed away March 10, 2018, at the Brown County Hospital in Ainsworth.
Beverly Jean Dailey was born on April 17, 1934, to Clifford J. and B. Faye (Brummet) Kramer in Stapleton. She attended Hoagland Country School in eastern Logan County and graduated from Logan County High School in 1951.
She was united in marriage to Donald Dale Dailey on Aug. 20, 1953, in Fort Riley, Kansas. They lived on area ranches until 1976, when they moved east of Gandy on the farm where she was raised. She helped her husband on the farm and especially enjoyed taking care of the pigs they raised. In 1982, she lost her hand in a farm accident but continued to help with the farm work. With God’s help, she was able to overcome her loss and accept it, not letting this change her outlook on life.
They semi-retired in 1996 and moved to Arnold in 2002. She was a longtime member and Sunday school teacher at Zion Lutheran Church in Arnold. Beverly enjoyed crocheting making afghans for her grandchildren and Christmas stockings for all of her great-grandchildren. Beverly was generous with her time, volunteering for many community activities and events.
Beverly and Don enjoyed camping with family and many trips to visit extended family. Beverly’s greatest joy was her large family because being an only child, she always wanted a big family.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; an infant brother, Kenneth Joe; and son, Alan Brock.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years; three sons, Daniel (Jo) of Long Pine, Clifford (Pat) of Hyannis and Lemoyne (Rhonda) of Thedford; daughter-in-law, Becky of Arnold; 14 grandchildren, Danielle (Cam) Palmer of Ainsworth, Dirk (Jami) Dailey of Hartington, Dane (Kelsey) Dailey, Dustin (Mattee) Dailey, all of Long Pine, Warren (Jackie) Dailey of Sundance, Wyoming, Lara (Ben) Hager of Torrington, Wyoming, Jeremiah (Crystal) Dailey of Johnston, Emily (Jim) Stacey of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Kaman (Klara) Dailey of Stapleton, Seth (Cassie) Dailey, Andrew Dailey and Matthew Dailey, all of Thedford, Brock (Robin) Dailey and Lindy (Della) Dailey, both of Arnold; 27 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Earl (Ila) Dailey of Arnold; sister-in-law, Ester Webster of North Platte; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Arnold Fire Department or Callaway District Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 16, at the Arnold First Baptist Church. Family burial will be prior to services.
