Eileen Pearl Boltz, age 90 of North Platte, passed away Sunday January 20, 2019 at Centennial Park Retirement Village.
Eileen was born December 14, 1928 in Omaha, NE to William T. and Mary B. (Groves) Boyd Jr. She grew up on outside of Paxton, NE and graduated from Paxton High School with the class of 1946. She moved to North Platte to work at Hirshfeld’s as a clerk and bookkeeper. She married Cyril “CM” Boltz on September 3, 1956 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. The couple had two children, Cyril “Mike” and Mary. The family lived in North Platte where she was a homemaker and farmwife until her children started school. At that point she went to work for North Platte Public Schools in the cafeteria as a bookkeeper. She was active in starting St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church; she volunteered at the Pumpkin Festival, the Bargain Bin, serving funeral dinners, and visiting people in the nursing home. She loved to garden and babysit for her grandchildren. In her 70s she still enjoyed driving a tractor and raking hay with her son Mike. After CM passed away in 2001, she stayed in her home for a few years before moving to an apartment and then to Centennial Park Retirement Home. Eileen enjoyed her kids and grandkids and will be dearly missed.
Eileen is survived by her children Cyril “Mike Boltz, Jr. of North Platte, Mary (Loy) Matthes of Rapid City, SD; grandchildren Kaycee, Laynee and Myka Boltz of North Platte, Sam, Sarah and Jake Matthes of Rapid City, SD; sister Betty June Scott of Fairfield, NE; as well as other extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents William Jr. and Mary Boyd; husband Cyril “CM” Boltz; infant granddaughter Jayde Alynn Boltz; siblings William “Sonny” H. Boyd, Mary Alice Hunter; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday January 22, 2019 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with graveside services following 11:00 a.m. at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery with Reverend Mark Seiker officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday January 21, 2019 at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
