Cynthia Marie ‘Cindi’ Wilson-Mastropieri

Cynthia Marie ‘Cindi’ Wilson-Mastropieri, of North Platte, passed away
at the age of 51 on Thursday, February 14, 2019, at the Nebraska Medical
Center in Omaha.

Cindi was born June 14, 1967, at Fort Benning, Georgia, to Sharon and
Steven Wilson.  The family eventually moved to North Platte where Cindi
graduated from North Platte High School in 1985 then attended Joseph’s
College of Beauty.  She went on to earn her Associates of Arts Degree
from Mid-Plains Community College in 2009 and her Bachelor’s Degree from
Penn State in the area of Human Development, Family Studies and Juvenile
Justice in May 2012.

Cindi was passionate about helping others. She worked extensively in the
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area to improve the lives of veterans through
her work as Executive Director of Philadelphia Veterans House,
Outreach/Intake Coordinator of Impact Veteran Services and Traditional
Housing Program, and she helped our nations homeless veterans as
Intensive Case Manager of Impact Services.  While in Philadelphia, Cindi
served as Vice President of SBMC Welcome Home, a mini stand-down once a
month in collaboration with Impact Services to provide veterans with
basic necessities.  When Cindi returned to North Platte she was employed
by DHHS/Child Protective Services.  She loved the work she did and being
able to help others.

On June 17, 2017, Cindi was united in marriage to Joseph Mario
Mastropieri in North Platte where they made their home.  Cindi was a
loving, kind and caring woman.  She loved spending time with her family,
especially her grandbabies.  She is gone too soon and will be missed so
much.

She is survived by her husband, Joe, of North Platte; children, Lacey
(Cody) Sweet, Kayce (James) Richardson, Tyler (Evie) Mora, Shelby
(Bryce) Easton, and Joey Jr.; her mother, Sharon Martens; father, Steven
Wilson; siblings, Dwane (Sheila) Wilson, Alicia (Brandon) Schrotberger
and Diane (Brent) Janssen; grandkids, Brently, Aiden, Kyla, Kaemyn,
Silas, Brody, Ziggy and Remy; as well as many nieces, nephews and other
family.

Cindi was preceded in death by her stepfather, Harry Martens;
stepmother, Neoma Wilson; her grandparents; stepbrother, Jonathan C.
Martens; and stepsister, Melinda Martens-Sagiao.

In keeping with Cindi’s wishes, cremation was chosen.  A memorial
service will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Odean
Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore with Pastor Clint Walker officiating.
The memorial book may be signed at odeanchapel.com or prior to the
service.  Memorials are suggested to the donor’s choice to help veterans
or children.
