Amil Ray Horn, age 57, of North Platte, died unexpectedly at Great
Plains Health on Wednesday, May 29, 2019.
Amil was born June 20, 1961, to Clifford and Loma (Howe) Horn at North
Platte where he grew up. After attending high school, Amil worked at
True Value then joined the U.S. Navy in October of 1985.
In 1988, while still serving in the Navy, Amil married Estela Ochoa in
Kansas. Following his honorable discharge, they returned to North Platte
and Amil went back to work at True Value, working for them until they
closed. The couple had a daughter together and later divorced.
Amil was preceded in death by his parents, Cliff and Loma Horn, and
sister, Julie Horn.
He is survived by his daughter, Cassandra (Scott) Gray, of Mullen;
stepsons, Jeromiah Ochoa, of Norfolk, Virginia and Antonio and Nicholas
Clemmons, of North Platte; brothers, Mike Horn, of Blyth, California,
Jim Horn, of North Platte and Luke Horn, of Rock Island, Oklahoma;
sisters, Betty (Jim) Lange and Sharon Gerrard, of North Platte; half
brothers, Earl Small, of Colorado and Julian Small, of North Platte; two
grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; as well as many nieces,
nephews and other family.
Cremation was chosen. Memorial Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, June
5, 2019, at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore with Rev. Dr. Douglas
A. Delp officiating. Inurnment with military honors will follow in Fort
McPherson National Cemetery. The memorial book may be signed at

Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements.
