The Denver Nuggets had no answer for Kobe Bryant and the rest of the Los Angeles Lakers, and now find themselves in a 2-0 hole in their first-round Western Conference playoff series. The Lakers topped the Nuggets 104-100 at Staples Center last night. While the Nuggets were more competitive in Game Two than in their Game One defeat, they still couldn’t slow down the Lakers, especially Bryant, who poured in a game-high 38 points, and Andrew Bynum, who added 27 points. The Nuggets were led by Ty Lawson, who shook off a disappointing performance in the opener to score 25 points and hand out seven assists. Denver trailed by as many as 19 points, but did go on a 12-3 run late in the fourth quarter to get close before the Lakers closed the deal. The series shifts to Denver for Game Three on Friday night.
