Marco Scutaro’s solo home run in the top of the ninth inning was the difference in the Colorado Rockies’ 5-4 victory over the San Francisco Giants last night. The Rockies snapped a four-game losing skid and ended a woeful road trip on a high note with the victory, but it did not come easily. The Rockies took a 4-1 lead into the seventh inning, but relievers Josh Outman and Matt Belisle allowed the Giants to score three times to tie the game. The Giants loaded the bases in the eighth inning as well but were unable to score. Scutaro led off the ninth with his first homer of the season, and Rafael Betancourt shut the door in the bottom half for his seventh save. The Rockies return home tonight to begin a brief two-game series with the Arizona Diamondbacks. ESPN Radio 1410 has the action, with pregame coverage at 7:05 and the first pitch at 7:40.
